Making Homes

This term for writing are topic is Home is where the heart is. Yesterday we began making houses. The houses had to fit your whole team in. You had a a few sheets of newspaper, a limited amount of string and masking tape and about 10 straws. We were in teams of 4 or 5. We began! We had about 20 minutes to make a house our whole team could fit in. All the teams were bustling and helping each other trying to build a house. At the end of the 20 minutes it was a mess! Most teams were nearly finished some were finished and some were well far away from finishing.

Dance

Taking us back to this time last term when we were learning how to dance the Jive and Hip Hop. Check out our dress rehearsals!

Chinese Language Week

To kick of Chinese Language Week, we had a Chinese cultural music performance where Maya and Allison also performed a fan dance.

International Day

What a great and busy term it has been! Today we have had international day. Check us out in our international cultural dress and the mural we have been working on this term. Look out for it around the school soon!

Calendar Art

Banana Pops

We had to write a procedural text so someone could follow it and make you your banana pop. It was a big challenge because if we did something wrong they had to still follow what was written and it would end up bad. At the end we ate our, yummy for some and disgusting for others, banana pops.

Making Movies

Room 5 have been busy learning how to make movies. Our focus was on 'friendship.'

Buddy Class

Room 5 went to Room 10 to buddy up with younger children. They choose books and we read to each other. We learned our buddy’s names and some of their hobbies. We loved going to a different area of the school to be with a different syndicate.This is a video of what we did with Room 10.

Statistics

Room 5 have begun conducting a statistical inquiry about how many cars and what colour of cars go past our school at different times of the day. If you see us, give us a big wave!
